Members-Only Events

Links to members-only online conversations can be found on Patreon and in our Members-Only Newsletter.

Membership starts at just $3/mo and comes with loads of great perks. Becoming a member helps support our team of musicians, artists, researchers, technicians, and administrators. Membership also helps us build a community, rather than just a collection of one-off event attendees.

Become a Member now at www.realtalkphilosophy.org/membership.

2. Preview Contextualizing Content

With limited synchronous screen-time, we are maximizing the amount of interactive activities (e.g. discussions, games) and reducing the amount of passive content consumption (e.g. lectures, music).

We sincerely believe that the quality of each conversation is significantly improved when guests arrive with a baseline understanding of the topic and the major arguments surrounding it, so we encourage you to explore the major arguments defined in our topic-specific pages here.

3. Stay Informed of Upcoming Events

Subscribe to our Mailing List and follow us on Facebook to stay informed of future events.

 What’s New

Since Real Talk first went online in 2020 (then called the Hanoi Philosophy Forum), a lot has changed.

Junto

We have partnered with a video conferencing platform called Junto to bring our online events to life. Junto describes itself as “a platform for structured, small-group video conversations around specific topics.” We could not have found a service more aligned with our mission or more finely tuned to facilitate Real Talk Online events. Shortened Runtime

We get it. Spending 2-3 hours laughing with friends at an in-person event is great, but there’s only so much time human beings can focus on a screen. Based on feedback from our Members, Real Talk Online events have been reduced to 60-90 minutes.

Maximizing Interactivity with Pre-Available Content

To maximize the amount of interactivity at our online events, we are removing the live lectures, making the content available anytime before the event.

Frequency

Based on feedback from our Members, we will be hosting online events once every two weeks.
