Real Talk EFL is a fun, interactive way for non-native English speakers to prepare for meaningful conversations in English. Instead of boring grammar charts and text books, we teach communication, critical thinking, and advanced vocabulary through explorations of global social issues (e.g. artificial intelligence, video games, climate change, cryptocurrency, social media, etc.) with first-language English conversation facilitators, games, art, music, and more.
Mat Gallinger
Mat Gallinger has taught English as a foreign language, both in-person and online for years. In addition to teaching English, Mat has led Real Talk live events in Da Nang, Vietnam, facilitating conversations between locals and foreigners since March 2021 on issues including The Ethics of Comedy, Antinatalism, Polyamory, Artificial Intelligence, and more.
Jon Massmann
Jon Massmann has been teaching English for over 5 years, in 4 different countries, in dozens of different ways. After receiving his TEFL Certification in his home of Seattle, USA he spent the next several years traveling, teaching, and studying throughout Southeast Asia, including Nepal, Thailand, Vietnam, and China. He currently lives in Chiang Mai Thailand, where he works as a writer, helps run Real Talk Philosophy, and studies counseling psychology.
Jon Dallas
Jon Dallas is an accomplished English Teacher and English Teacher Trainer. He is a native English speaker from Baltimore, USA with a neutral accent and a passion for education. Jon received a Bachelor's Degree in 2012 from Towson University in Theatre. He graduated from TEFL Worldwide Prague in March 2016, an accredited, 140-Hour on-site TEFL certification program. Since graduation, Jon has been teaching English at APAX English and online. In 2017, Jon founded Real Talk Philosophy and has facilitated more than 200 community conversations around divisive issues.
